A Digital Certificate is a cryptographically secure way of creating and managing an identity as well as how and when to trust that identity. There are two parts to a Digital Certificate: the Private secret and the Public certificate.
There are two meanings for Device:
- The physical machine that run the Agent
- The representation of that physical machine in the cloud, which is a combination of an Agent and a Digital Certificate to identify and communicate with a specific machine.
