Configuring a Static IP address using a direct network connection

By default, all interfaces on ArdexaLinux will attempt to use DHCP for address discovery. To configure a static address, simply connect a cable from your laptop to any ethernet port on the ArdexaLinux machine.

Once DHCP times out (30s), a fallback address will be enabled on the interface: 172.16.99.99/24. On your laptop, configure the IP address 172.16.99.100, e.g. sudo ip addr add 172.16.99.100/24 dev enp0s20f0u1. For Windows users, please use the IP configuration tool to set the IP address. To check that you are connected, you should be able to ping the ArdexaLinux machine: ping -c3 176.16.99.99.

Now, you can browse to the ArdexaLinux IP configuration tool: http://172.16.99.99
